Ocala, Fla. – Both the Retriever men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs concluded their 2023-24 campaigns as they competed in the 2024 CSCAA National Invitational Championships.
Senior Dani Nicusan won the 100 yard individual medley in the time of 48.13. That mark is currently the second-best recorded amongst NCAA Division I schools this season. The 100 IM is not contested at the NCAA Championships.
The seven UMBC men amassed 221 points and finished 12th overall out of 35 teams. It was the best-ever finish for the men in their short history of CSCAA Invitational competition.
“The men continue to bring our team from a regional power to increased levels of respect on the national scene,” said Head Swimming Coach Matt Donovan. “This was a great meet and strong ending to our season.”
Eight women represented UMBC in Ocala and Coach Donovan was excited about what lies ahead. “The ladies did a tremendous job this weekend, a perfect way to cap off the season. This team has a very bright future and it’s all due to the work they have put in since day one.”
