GENEVA, Ohio — IUP men’s swimmer Luke Mikesell just missed out on qualification for the finals in the 200 free on Thursday morning at the 2024 NCAA DII Swimming Championships, held at SPIRE Institute.
Mikesell finished 23rd in the event, recording a final mark of 1:37.93.
“It’s always great to be at the NCAA Championships, where the competition is elite,” IUP head coach Chris Villa said. :Our student-athletes have certainly worked hard to earn their spot here.
“Luke got us off to a strong start, nearly matching his best this season. We feel our best events are yet to come and are excited to see what out student-athletes can accomplish.”

All three competing IUP swimmers are in action on Friday, March 15. Mikesell returns to the pool in the 500 free, with Atahansios Diamantidis (100 breast) and Kasha Stokes (100 back) also taking part int he prelims at 10:00 a.m.
