NEW YORK — The Columbia women’s swimming and diving team is set to compete at the 2024 Ivy League Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships at Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center on the campus of Brown University.
The meet, which is taking place from February 21-25, will begin on Wednesday evening with the finals of the 200-medley relay and 800-free relay. The rest of the week, prelims will begin at 11 a.m. every morning, with finals set for 6 p.m. every evening.

LAST TIME OUT
The Lion closed out the regular season with a victory over the Dartmouth Big Green in a dual meet on Saturday, January 27. The Lions won over 10 events on the day, as they went on to win 202-98.
Alice Diakova kicked off senior day in a big way, winning the 3m dive with a score of 309.60. Diakova then closed out the final regular season meet of her career with a win on the 1m boards, completing the sweep with a score of 288.68.
The Lions opened up the swimming portion of the meet with a victory in the 200-medley relay. The team of Emily Wang, Ashley Hu, Anthea Wong, and Emily MacDonald finished with a time of 1:41.74 to take first place.
Columbia’s first individual swimming victory came during the 200-free when Emily MacDonald touched the wall with a time of 1:50.80 to earn nine points for the Lions. MacDonald would go on to win the 200-free later in the day with a time of 50.28.
Emily Wang followed that up with a win in the 100-back, clocking in with a time of 56.26. Riley Pujadas was right behind her in second place with a time of 56.74. The Lions continued to roll throughout the afternoon.

CHAMPIONSHIP STYLE MEETS
In Columbia’s lone championship style meet of the season, the Lions had an incredible showing at the ECAC Winter Championships. Columbia finished in first place for the third consecutive season, along with some incredible individual performances.
Emily MacDonald and Aziza Ganihanova stayed hot, each winning three individual events over the course of this year’s ECACs. Ashley Hu won two individual events. Allison Martin, Georgia Young, Meredith Stewart, and Emily Wang each touched the wall first in various events.
At last year’s Ivy League Championships, the Lions finished in fifth place with a score of 910.5. Much of the same core will be returning this year to swim in Rhode Island with another year of experience under their belts.

ON DECK
Following the completion of the Ivy League Championships, the Lions will participate in the ECAC Championships taking place from March 1-3 in Maryland.
